Dirtbag Summer

Wow. Four months ago, I left on the biggest adventure of my life, a 12,000 mile road trip around the United States. I slept almost exclusively in my car, and only paid for one night of camping.

While I’ve been back for almost twelve weeks, it’s truly been a whirlwind for the past few months.

I have a few draft posts about my 12,000 mile road trip adventure, and I promise they’ll be published soon. One is about the logistics: planning a dirtbag road trip, traveling, sleeping arrangements, picking a route, living in your car, supplies and equipment, etc. Another is about the running side of the trip: route notes (and photos), training notes, recommendations, etc. I have a “tribute” post of sorts to try and draw attention to the plight of our National Public Lands, with some great photos and videos I took this summer. Finally, I have a post about the personal/emotional growth I experienced on the road trip. I promise that’ll be a short one! 🙂

BUT FIRST!

The big news is that… I’m making all of this into a movie. Before I talk more about it, here’s the trailer!

The final film will have some details about the subjects listed above in the upcoming blog posts, but more importantly some gorgeous photos and videos from around the country. I’m even hoping to compose and perform the soundtrack myself. I plan to release it sometime in the Fall of 2018, and it’ll be in full 4k glory!

Here are some teaser photographs from my trip to get you interested in the upcoming film! The video footage is staying under wraps for now.

Thanks to Altra Running and acidotic RACING for the support in 2017, and thanks to everyone who followed along on my trip!
