Plain-Language Terms and Conditions
This is a summary for convenience only. The full Terms & Conditions are the binding agreement and control in any conflict.

Health, Risk & Responsibility
Full terms: Release And Assumption Of Risk; Indemnification
-
You must be 18 or older. Participation is voluntary and involves physical activity with inherent, unavoidable risk.
-
Coaching is not medical advice. Seek clearance from a qualified provider if you are new to training or returning from injury, illness, or a long break.
-
Plans may include trail and road running, altitude, strength work, heat adaptation and sauna use — each carrying its own added risks.
-
You are responsible for your own safety, preparation and response to training: hydration, rest, environment, and seeking medical care.
-
Results are not guaranteed; improvement is influenced by many factors outside the coach and athlete’s control.
Communication & Training Decisions
Full terms: Athlete Responsibilities — Communication and Training Decisions
-
Coaching quality depends on what you tell your coach: performance metrics plus honest subjective feedback about both running and life stress.
-
Thin communication limits how effective coaching can be.
-
You alone control decisions about your running.
-
Coaching input is advice grounded in science, research, education and experience. Not following that advice may affect your training quality, but it will not affect your coaching agreement.
-
See the non-binding Best Practices When Working With a Coach for how to get the most out of your plan.
Rules & Conduct at Races
Full terms: Athlete Responsibilities — Rules and Conduct
-
Follow all rules of any applicable industry association and national governing body, including rules on performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) and banned substances. Some apply out-of-competition, not just on race day, and testing can happen year-round. Others are prohibited in-competition only. Knowing which is which is part of your responsibility as an athlete.
-
Follow event rules that can lead to disqualification, such as outside assistance, pacing, course rules, bib and entry violations.
-
Knowing the rules is on you. That includes obtaining any Therapeutic Use Exemption you may need, and making sure your crew and pacers understand and follow event rules on your behalf.
-
Maintain a sport-appropriate level of respect, support and positivity toward other athletes, race directors, officials, volunteers, sponsors, vendors and the public.
-
These are requirements of all athletes. Not abiding by them may result in termination of the coaching agreement.
Billing & Your Plan
Full terms: Coaching Fees #2, #3, #9
Commitment plans were retired in April 2026 and aren't available to new athletes. The bullets below marked "Commitment" apply only to athletes already on one.
-
Fees are paid in advance for each billing period through the website. Keep your card current so recurring billing works.
-
If a payment fails there is a 10-day grace period with no late fee or interruption. Need more time to figure it out? Just email.
-
Monthly and 3-Month Recurring plans renew automatically — email at least 2 business days before renewal to cancel.
-
12-Month Commitment plans bill automatically through the term, then you pick your next plan.
-
Prepaid plans are a single lump sum and never auto-renew. You can choose a new plan when yours expires.
-
Rate lock: your standard monthly rate is locked in indefinitely, as long as you don’t take more than a 12-month break from coaching.
Pausing Coaching
Full terms: Coaching Fees #4, #8
-
You may pause indefinitely for injury, illness, or major life stress, with 48 hours’ email notice. Unused coaching time is retained as credit.
-
Monthly and 3-Month Recurring: billing pauses as well.
-
12-Month Commitment plans: billing continues on schedule, but your coaching end date is extended by the full paused time at no charge.
-
Prepaid plans are non-refundable but can be paused indefinitely.
Cancelling
Full terms: Coaching Fees #5, #6, #7
-
The current paid billing period is non-refundable. Cancelling stops future payments only.
-
(Commitment plans) Ending a commitment term early carries a fee of one additional month at your current rate. If it can’t be collected on the normal schedule it will be invoiced, payable within 10 days.
Coaching Fit and Alignment
Full terms: Professional Fit and Coaching Alignment
-
Coaching may be declined or ended if fundamental disagreements in training philosophy, decision-making, communication style, or expectations are preventing effective coaching.
-
You get at least 7 days’ email notice, effective at the end of your current coaching month, plus referrals to other coaches when possible.
-
Immediate termination is reserved for serious misconduct, including violations of the Athlete Responsibilities above.
-
The current month is non-refundable; unused prepaid future months are refunded within 30 days.
Your Data & Privacy
Full terms: Privacy and Data (Athletes)
-
Training data lives in Google Sheets; the website and payments run through Wix.
-
Race results, testimonials, and photos or video you provide may be used in marketing and educational materials.
-
Private training logs, private communications, and sensitive personal information are never used in promotional materials without your explicit authorization.
-
Opt out of testimonials, marketing, or non-coaching communications any time by emailing a written request.
-
Your personal information is never sold. AI is not used to handle athlete data.
What’s Yours, What’s Ours
Full terms: Confidentiality and Intellectual Property
-
Yours, permanently: your personal training history — the data you generate and log, your subjective feedback and notes, and the log portion of your history.
-
Ours, legally: copyright, trademark and other intellectual property in the structure, sequence and design of the training itself, along with plans, templates, videos, apps and software, methods and coaching frameworks. This is about ownership and redistribution — not your access. What it means in practice: don't republish, resell, or hand these materials to other coaches or athletes.
-
Coaching materials and the substance of coach-athlete communications are confidential and shouldn’t be shared or reproduced without consent.
If a Disagreement Comes Up
Full terms: Dispute Resolution; Governing Law; Severability
-
Step one is always a good-faith conversation.
-
If that doesn’t resolve it, both sides agree to attempt mediation in New Hampshire before any formal legal action, each covering their own costs.
-
New Hampshire law governs the agreement.
